Border Contol

Every single day, it is estimated, that 2,700 illegal immigrants cross the US border everyday. This is not something that has just became a problem, the problem of border patrol dates back all the way to 1915. Illegal immigration is a hot topic today.

Could you imagine that on September 11th, 2001, absolutely nothing would have happened? Well if a stricter border patrol policy was in place, the 19 terrorists wouldn't have entered the country. A couple seeked out visa's, but most hopped the border from Mexico. They then moved over to San Diego, several of them were even pulled over for traffic violations! Had that cop would've known, the attacks may of never even happened!

Needless to say, America needs to take a stricter stance on border patrol to prevent any other attacks from happening.

Gun Control

When the forefathers came together and created the Bill of Rights, and they wrote the second amendment, I don't think they had in mind that in 50, 60 years, people would be running around with m-16's, semi-automatic rifles, and Uzis. But that was then, and this is now. Today, as long as you have the proper paperwork, you can walk into any Walmart, Cabela's, Gander Mountain and buy anything from an air-soft gun to a semi-automatic ak-47. Now I believe this okay to a point, but we need to keep a strict hold on gun control.

For example, on Monday, April 16th, 2007, at 7:15, Seung-Hui Cho walked onto a college campus in Blacksburg, Virginia and shot and killed over 33 people and injured 25, some were in serious condition. Now as we look back at the Virginia Tech massacre, we dig deeper and look into the weapons he was using, a Glock 19 and a Walther P22. Both of which were bought at a store in Roanoke following all necessary steps to obtain a weapon. Then five weeks later he killed 33 people, including himself.

For those reasons, and many many others, I believe we need a stricter law on gun control. I believe there should be mental health evaluations, you should have to go through screening, among other security precautions. If we don't take some necessary steps, it's just going to be a matter of time before the next public shooting will take place.
